About Me

After ten years of restaurant management, I decided there had to be something more to living than working in the corporate world.  One day I gave my months notice and the next day I was enrolled in the Massage Therapy Institute of Missouri in Columbia Missouri.  I worked as a Registered Activity Director in a nursing home while going to massage school.  Being part of a care plan team forever changed the way I look at our health care system.  I am more than a 49 year old white female orientated x3 and so are you.

I was licensed in 2001 and was introduced to the Missouri Sports Massage Team as well as the AMTA by my mentor Esteban Rulvacaba while still in school.  I remember working my first MS 150 and being hooked.  In 2011 I completed a 7 year apprenticeship in Clinical Sports Massage at Massage Therapies of Columbia.

In 2010 I served as American Massage Therapy Association secretary.

In 2011 I was honored with being a part of the Community Service Massage Team.  This team was formed shortly after the Joplin tornado to provide massage to first and second responders. We worked in Joplin for 3 months, and then returned to provide 700 massages in 7 days with Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  It was a privilege to work with so many dedicated therapists. I went on to serve as the CSMT DIRECTOR working closely with SEMA and VOAD.

In 2012-2016 I started serving my first time as a Delegate and a member of the Missouri State AMTA BOD until 2020 and finishing as  the Education Chair.

In 2013 I was blessed with meeting and starting training with Taya Countryman, and finished my Structural Relief Therapy Training in 2016.

After several years of using Keineiology Tape, in 2015 I became Rock Tape certified by Mitch Hauschildt. I also Rock Blades certified which is a IASTM device.

In 2016 I hit the books hard to achieved  my Voddar Training at the Academy of Lymphatic Studies. Having several family members with Lymphedema, this was on my bucket list of certifications. I am so excited  to have the decompression therapy in my toolbox.

Lately I've been studying Brain Mapping and how to teach the nervous system to start communicating with the brain after a traumatic  injury.
